You cannot pay, defer, or split your claim in this period.
As of 1 January 2026, new debt collection rules will take effect and several collection authorities will be merged into one: the Collection Authority in the Tax Administration. This means that we are:
- phasing out sismo.skatteetaten.no and moving all the content to skatteetaten.no
- rebuilding and updating skatteetaten.no for a few days from and including 1 January

To avoid a mark on your credit record and deductions from your salary or benefits, it’s important that you pay the right amount, at the right time.
We can help you as you go
If you've received a bill from us that you cannot pay right now, there are payment agreements that can be of help to you. For example, you can split the amount you owe into instalments or get payment deferrals for some types of claims.
However, if we've already started enforcement proceedings, it’s too late to apply for a payment agreement.
What happens if you do not pay?
If you do not pay invoices or payment reminders from us, we'll send you notification of enforcement proceedings.
If you still do not pay after receiving a notification of enforcement proceedings, we will arrange attachment proceedings, which may result in deductions from your income or attachments on your belongings.
